Dreading every workday, running on empty, or feeling like your job has lost its point? This burnout test uses 12 questions written by Giggleus to look back at the past month. Four questions each cover exhaustion, cynicism (feeling detached from your job) and a reduced sense of accomplishment. Each answer scores 0 to 4, for a total of 0 to 48.
Your result shows your score, one of four levels — few burnout signs, fatigue building up, burnout building or clear burnout signs — and which of the three areas stands out most, with recovery tips. It is not the MBI or any other validated scale, the cut-offs are Giggleus's own, and your answers stay on your device. The WHO describes burnout as an occupational phenomenon, not a medical condition, so this is a reference check, not a diagnosis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is this burnout test based on?
A. It uses 12 questions written by Giggleus, not the MBI or another validated scale. Drawing on the three aspects of burnout the WHO describes, it asks four questions each on exhaustion, cynicism and reduced accomplishment, scored 0 to 4 for a total of 0 to 48.
Q. What does my burnout score mean?
A. 0–11 means few burnout signs, 12–23 fatigue building up, 24–35 burnout building and 36–48 clear burnout signs. These are Giggleus's own reference ranges, not clinical cut-offs. You also see which of the three areas scored highest.
Q. Can this test diagnose burnout?
A. No. It's a reference self-check, not a diagnosis — and the WHO's ICD-11 classifies burnout as an occupational phenomenon, not a medical condition. If low mood, lack of energy or poor sleep lasts more than two weeks, it could be something else, such as depression, so talk to a doctor or mental-health professional.
