How old am I exactly? Pick your date of birth from the year, month and day menus (Gregorian calendar, years from 1920) and the calculator shows your age in completed years, the number of days you have lived and a countdown to your next birthday, with its date and the age you will turn. Nothing is sent to a server; the calculation runs in your browser.
By default the age is worked out for today’s date on your device, but you can set any past or future reference date to answer questions like “how old was I on my wedding day?” or “how old will I be on 1 January 2030?”. Days lived counts your date of birth as day 1, which makes it easy to spot 10,000-day milestones. People born on 29 February have their birthday counted on 28 February in common years.
As extras, the page shows your Chinese zodiac animal (matched by Gregorian birth year, so January and early-February births may differ from the Lunar New Year rule), your Western star sign, the age you reach this year (reference year minus birth year) and traditional Korean age, the old East Asian count that starts at 1 and adds a year every 1 January.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How does the age calculator work out my age?
A. It counts the full years completed between your date of birth and the reference date, which is today unless you change it. Your age goes up on your birthday itself.
Q. Can I find out how old I was or will be on a specific date?
A. Yes. Open “Change reference date” and pick any past or future day; your age, days lived and birthday countdown are all recalculated for that date.
Q. What if I was born on 29 February?
A. In years without a 29 February, the calculator counts your birthday on 28 February, both for the age and for the countdown.
Q. How are days lived counted?
A. Your date of birth counts as day 1, so someone born exactly one year ago (365 days) is on day 366.
