Giggleus Ladder Game is a free online version of ghost leg, the paper lottery known as amidakuji in Japan and sadaritagi in Korea. Each player gets a vertical line, the outcomes sit at the bottom, and hidden horizontal rungs decide who ends up where. Every line lands on exactly one outcome, so no two players can get the same result.
Use it whenever a group needs a quick draw with no arguing: who does the coffee run, who takes dishes or cleaning duty this week, the speaking order for a team meeting or class presentation, room pairings on a trip, or roles in a group project. Watching the path trace down a shared screen is half the fun.
How it works: pick 2–10 players and type their names, then write the outcomes yourself or use a preset (one winner, coffee run, cleaning duty, or a 1-to-N order). Press "Build the ladder" and the tool places 3–5 rungs between every pair of neighboring lines using your browser's cryptographic random number generator. The rungs stay hidden until you tap a name and watch its path, or press "Reveal all results" to see everyone in one table. "New ladder" redraws the rungs from scratch, and "Shuffle outcomes" mixes the order of the outcomes before you start. Free, no sign-up, and results can be shared with one tap.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is the ladder game really random?
A. Yes. Every new ladder places 3–5 rungs at random positions between each pair of neighboring lines, using your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). The rungs stay hidden until each path is traced, so no one can steer the result. Because a path usually drifts only a few lines sideways, press "Shuffle outcomes" before starting if you also want the order of the outcomes mixed.
Q. Can two players get the same outcome?
A. No. A ghost-leg ladder always connects each starting line to exactly one outcome at the bottom, so every outcome is used once — which is why it works well for chores and turn order.
Q. How many players can join?
A. 2 to 10 players, which keeps the ladder readable on a phone. For bigger groups, Marble Roulette handles up to 30 marbles.
