Core Breaker is a free vertical space shooter you play right in your browser, on desktop or mobile, with nothing to install. Your fighter fires automatically, so the whole game is about where you fly: weave through enemy fire, line up your shots and stay alive on three lives for as long as you can.
Armored ships soak up your first hits until their plating cracks; after that, shots to the center deal triple damage. Volatile ships blow up when destroyed and can take nearby enemies with them, setting off chain explosions. Shoot down enemies to grab power cores: three upgrades take you from twin cannons to triple cannons, then spread rockets, then automatic homing missiles. Every kill also charges the barrage gauge, and when it is full, Space or the barrage button launches 24 homing missiles.
A boss arrives every 90 seconds. Five bosses rotate, each with its own bullet pattern: destroy the two side modules to expose the core, then break the core for 3,000 points and move on to the next stage. Keep kills coming within two seconds of each other to build a combo — 10 in a row doubles your points and 25 triples them. When your last life is gone, your score goes to the global ranking and you can share a result image to challenge friends.

A. Drag your fighter to move it — it fires automatically. On a keyboard, move with WASD or the arrow keys, press Space to launch the barrage when the gauge is full, and press Esc to pause.
