Reading it through cognitive functions

INFPThe Mediator

FiNeSiTe

A gentle romantic who loves sincerely and values authenticity and shared values above all.

ENFJThe Protagonist

FeNiSeTi

A warm, giving partner who reads the room and pours energy into making people feel seen.

Your cognitive stacks don’t overlap at all, so you truly think differently — expect a learning curve, and a lot to teach each other.

Where you click

  • Perception (S/N) · You take in the world through the same lens, so conversations flow and you rarely talk past each other.
  • Decisions (T/F) · You reach decisions the same way, so your priorities and reactions feel familiar and easy to trust.

Where to be patient

  • Energy (E/I) · One of you refuels with people, the other with solitude — respect the difference and you balance each other beautifully.
  • Lifestyle (J/P) · One likes a plan, the other likes to keep options open — agreeing on the non-negotiables keeps friction low.

Tips to grow closer

  • Name what you need out loud — most MBTI friction is a translation gap, not a values gap.
  • When you clash, assume good intent first: the other type is solving the same problem a different way.
  • Lean into the differences instead of filing them down — they’re usually why you were drawn to each other.

MBTI compatibility is a free test that reads two personality types through their cognitive functions (like Ni, Fe, and Te) rather than simply counting matching letters. Pick your type and theirs, and instantly see how you click across three contexts — love, friendship, and work — plus each type's strengths, friction points, and tips to grow closer. No sign-up, 100% free, just for fun.

What makes it different is the engine. Two types that share the same four functions (a 'quadra') think on the same wavelength, while a 'dual' pair — whose function stacks mirror each other in reverse — is the classic complementary match, each energizing the other's blind spots. We weight the E/I, S/N, T/F, and J/P axes differently for love, friendship, and work, so one pair's scores can differ by up to 14 points between contexts — INTJ × ESFP, for instance, scores 80 in love but 66 at work.

It's an independent tool for fun and reference — not an official MBTI® assessment (MBTI is a trademark of The Myers-Briggs Company). Enjoy it alongside Giggleus's other compatibility tools — zodiac sign compatibility and personality tests — and share your result with a friend.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q. How is MBTI compatibility calculated here?

    A. Instead of just counting matching letters, we combine two signals: which of the four letters you share, and how many of your four cognitive functions (like Ni, Fe, Te) overlap — with an extra bonus for duals, whose function stacks are each other's exact reverse. Love, friendship and work weigh these differently, and the overall score blends them (love 50%, friendship and work 25% each). All 256 pairings land between 60 and 93.

  • Q. Does a low score mean we won't work?

    A. Not at all. A low score just flags a pairing that takes more translation — often the pairs with the most to teach each other. Real relationships are built, not calculated, so take it as a fun starting point.

  • Q. What's the best match for my type?

    A. The type that differs from yours only in E/I is your best match at 93 points — INTJ and ENTJ, for example — with your own type close behind at 91. These are the violet cells (90+) in your row of the chart. Your dual, whose function stack is the reverse of yours (INTJ × ESFP, say), scores 76 and lands in the Solid match band.

  • Q. Is this an official MBTI test?

    A. No. It's an independent compatibility tool made for fun and reference, not an official MBTI® assessment — MBTI is a trademark of The Myers-Briggs Company, and we're not affiliated with it or with 16Personalities. It uses the 16 four-letter types and their popular nicknames; if you don't know your type yet, take a Big Five or MBTI-style test first, then come back to compare.
